Integrating Microblogging (e.g. Twitter)

Integrating microblogging (e.g. Twitter) with your site is easy.

1. Open a Twitter (or other microblogging platform, such as identi.ca) account
2. Open an account with one of the free services. We’ll use Twitterfeed.com (http://twitterfeed.com) in this example
3. Point the RSS you want to feature on Twitter to Twitterfeed.com and connect your Twitter account
4. To feature your Twitter feeds on your site, include the appropriate widget to your templates. For example, you can display twitter status updates (http://twitter.com/goodies/widget_profile), search results (http://twitter.com/goodies/widget_search), or use one of the myriad twitter widgets (e.g. some can be found here: http://www.widgetbox.com/search?q=twitter)
