Description

Right now it takes a long time to load SMIL playlists (approx 10 secs for each hour of songs). This time should be significantly reduced – by an order of magnitude or more.

There are rumors that using gnonlin may help us, but there may be bugs in gnonlin that prevent us from using it:

(08:26:07) fgerlits: “our” bug is http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=308312

(08:26:56) fgerlits: plus http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345971 (marked as a duplicate of the previous)

(08:28:07) fgerlits: plus http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347529 (fixed)

(08:28:07) fgerlits: and http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347085 (marked as not-a-bug, but it’s not clear to me

(08:29:03) fgerlits: and Jono Bacon reported http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341431 which might be a problem for us, too, if we want to use gnonlin

(08:36:06) fransman: Jan from fluendo (irc:thaytan) wants to spend time to 308312

(08:49:35) fransman: about 347085 we are switched to decodebin
