For users in situations where connectivity is difficult, the ability to e-mail articles directly to a Campsite server would be extremely useful. Such a feature would allow a user to follow a pre-defined syntax for article input, such as “

body text goes here
” and so on.
Users could be pre-assigned a codeword or codephrase that would be included in the subject line of the e-mail, which would tell the system who the article is coming from, along the lines of how Buzznet.com uses e-mailed input.
The other area where this becomes useful is through the use of SMS and MMS, where reporters on the scene could input stories directly from their phones, using existing SMS to email functionality. This becomes especially interesting when looking at the upcoming multimedia attachments feature.
