2.2.5. Upgrading from Versions 2.2.x

Table of Contents
2.2.5.1. Compatibility Issues

The process of upgrading from Campsite 2.2.x is transparent to the user: all 2.2.x instances are upgraded automatically (including the database and code). The templates are 100% compatible. Installing Campsite 2.3.0 over an older 2.2.x version will do the upgrade without any user input.

The process of upgrading from Campsite 2.1.x to 2.3.0 is identical to the upgrade from 2.1.x to 2.2.x and is described in the following sub-chapters. For upgrading from Campsite 1.0.x or 2.0.x read “APPENDIX II – UPGRADING FROM OLDER VERSIONS OF CAMPSITE”.

If you can't use the automatic upgrade, you need to perform the following steps:

1. cd /usr/share/campsite/instance/database/upgrade/2.2.x (this may be in another location on your machine)

2. php -dinclude_path=/var/www/campsite/html:/usr/share/pear update_article_types.php

3. mysql -uroot -p[password]

4. use [database] (database will probably be 'campsite')

5. source tables.sql (there will be an error which you can ignore: ERROR 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'system php ./update_article_types.php)

5. source data-required.sql

This last script requires that you are running with MySQL 4.04 or later.
