3.1. Campsite User Interface

Campsite looks different to different kind of back-end users. Each user sees only the options that she has the right to access or alter. A typical back-end user (an editor or journalist) will get to see only a fraction of the options available to a fully authorized user (e. g. administrator). On top of that, each user is able to choose his interface language at the log-in. The default language is English, but you can either use one of the localized versions we supply (at the moment, we supply the German, Russian, Arabic, Serbian, Croatian, Serbo-Croatian, Chinese, Romanian and Czech versions) or create your own (see The Localizer section below)

When you log into Campsite, you will reach the home page. On the top of the screen, you will see the navigation menu, containing the functions available for your you will access the home page that contains a list of submitted articles and articles you have created. Here is how two typical users would see the Home View:

1. Campsite: Home View for a user with full rights

The drop-down menu on the top is the main navigation tool, and it consists of the following headings:

Content: here you can find Publications, Image Archive (if you have the right to manipulate images), and the list of all available publications on the server, with quick access to three latest issues and the full list of sections within them.

Actions: here you have quick access to the most commonly used functions, such as Add a new article, list of functions that you can access, while the right frame displays the currently selected module.

Configure: here, administrators or other users with sufficient rights can configure publications (create and add templates, article types, topics, etc.), access the Localizer, and view logs.
