1.4 LiveSupport Office: the full office package
Additionally we have decided to include a
LiveSupport Office package on the LiveSupport Installer CD. If this mode of
installation is chosen, the user will set up a fully functioning office client
machine featuring advanced open source solutions. By selecting the applications
to ship with LiveSupport Office we followed the user-friendly Campware policy
and selected one application for each office task, making LiveSupport Office an
intuitive Linux installation.
The office applications installed with
LiveSupport Office are:
- OpenOffice: office suite
- Kontact: address manager
- KOrganizer: calendar planner
- K3B: CD and DVD burner
- Gimp: image editor
- KMail: mail client
- Firefox: browser
- XMMS: multimedia player
- Audacity: audio editing
- Gaim: instant messaging
- KMix: audio mixer
- ... and other minor applications and
helpers
By going this route, the LiveSupport
installer CD provides an all-in-one solution for a radio station for all its
day-to-day operations. And all the included software is free and legal.
