Ticket #1434 (assigned)

When the scheduled playlist starts, it is not possible to stop it.

Description by Robert Klajn:

When the scheduled playlist starts, it is not possible to stop it (turn off, delete, or anything else), untill it completely finish with playing. If there has been some mistake in the program, we can't turn the playlist off, or edit its time afterwards. We can only plug the complete system out.

and user-interface-wise, where would you like to have a button to stop the currently playing playlist in the scheduler?

I'd like to propose two changes to LS Studio that may make the issue more transparent. Adding a 'now playing' line to the scheduler window, along with a stop button (the same as on the scratchpad) would provide info on whether or not an item is currently playing from the scheduler. In the event nothing is currently playing, the line will display "Now playing:" and no playlist name. One other item to consider would be adding an indicator at the top of the master panel that shows whether there is an item playing in the scheduler, and treating that item the same as a playlist in live mode. In the event an item is added to live mode when a scheduled item is playing, a dialog box should ask the user whether they want to interrupt the scheduled playlist and play the live mode item. As with all design items, we should get feedback from Charles on this. I'm including a sketch of what the features could look like.

A corresponding menu item in the HTML UI would be added to the 'Scheduler' menu for 'Stop current schedule item'

I agree, we need to create some 'Stop /remove/or delete' item for interrupting playlist directly in the program, in case the user makes any kind of mistake accidently in the program. I also agree with Doug that we should have info in Master panel on what item and what playlist is currently playing (this was the idea from the beginning of the project :)), and through this Master panel we should realize this 'stop current' item.

I'm still confused about the double functionality of the Master Panel main window: it sometimes shows what's playing on Live Mode, sometimes shows what's playing on the scheduler. does the above assume that sometimes it would show both?

          if so, how?

as for stopping what's on the scheduler, I guess we would need a confirmation dialog ("Are you sure?")
