Live Studio will not run without Live Statio

I installed Studio from the live CD without Station. I get the following error message:
"Authentication Server Not Available."
It would be nice to be able to run Studio without the Station module, but if this is not possible, I wonder if a more explanatory error message might be possible. I have in mind something like:
"Live Studio must have Live Station installed in another machine on your network, or installed in the same machine."
My configuration:
Athlon 1200
512 Megs RAM
40 gig Maxtor drive, two 20 gig partitions, one devoted to Live Support

Fair enough. We need a better error message, plus a better users' manual.
