Could the full alsa-driver package be put into the livecd because it currently does not support all the sounds cards that alsa states.
Also alsa-firmware and alsa-tools as these provide useful tools for the higher end cards.
Since this will be used in studio work it is more likely to come across the high end cards so adding them would be benficaly, well at least me with darla24.

sounds like a good idea, and this was the original intention. it seems it didn't get through.
unfortunately I don't have familiarity with Knoppix, and there's a long term plan to shift to the Ubuntu Live CD as well.. (that may have ALSA support from the start, but that's just a guess)
