Description by douglas:

Proof of broadcast is essential to establish serious business relationships with advertisers. LiveSupport will provide accurate and detailed log files stating the precise time each item was broadcast over the system. In a radio-network context, the proof of broadcast tool developed by MDLF in conjunction with Radio 68H in Indonesia will be used to aggregate and analyze logs created by individual LiveSupport installations.

    currently, the scheduler does store a record of each playlist played. but the C++ GUI does not as yet (and I don't know of the HTML UI)

      A log file showing all music played per hour/day is also essential for copyright management. Many authorities collecting copyright fees for (internet) radio stations demand logging.

      this issue is related to #990 , which would be the UI side of viewing proof of broadcast logs.

      what needs to be done:

      • some API calls to log what has been played
      • a thorough description of the various reports needed
      • formats of the reports (window, printout, etc.)
