Description by douglas:
For stations with large amounts of already-existing files (Radio B92 has 30,000 songs, for example), a tool for the automatic import of files is necessary. Such a tool would scan the file for relevant information - most likely ID3v2 information - that would automatically be imported into metadata.

The import script is available: modules/storageServer/bin/import.sh parameters: -d, --directory The source directory, required; will be readed recursively. -l, --list The filename with list of absolute filepaths (newline- separated). -h, --help Print this message and exit. Import speed was ~0.5 songs/s from HD and ~0.3 songs/s from DVD on my laptop.

Tomas,
I see that instead of modules/storageServer/bin/import.sh, the script is actually in modules/storageAdmin/bin/import.sh
I also see that our normal installation procedure actually doesn't install storageAdmin. so far it's been all fine so. should we install storageAdmin as well? is it a problem so far we didn't?
or is the import.sh script placed there by mistake?

- resolution set to fixed

I see that it is being installed, but under $prefix/usr/usr, instead of the usual directory.
let's fix this in 1.1, see #1472
Import of jingle's from MiniDisc?? You need a Hi-MD walkman, with usb port connecting to your pc and the Hi-MD Renderer tool. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=6087 This is not a tool developed by Sony which can export files from SonicStage?. Additional advantage is that this tool can export ALL music from SonicStage? even if you are granted for that rights. Disadvantage of the rendertool is, there can be theoretically small bug's in the exported music. Updated 03-01-05 18:22 There are a few sites related to MiniDisc? titling/editing under Linux.
