Description by fgerlits:
Currently, only EntryBin? shows if it receives focus, but neither text nor image buttons do. I think ComboBoxText? can not even receive focus.

I think text buttons should definitely show somehow that they have focus (Cancel, OK). This is normally a dotted box around the text; but yes, we should ask Charles. With image buttons, I'm not sure -- maybe they should just never receive focus? But something needs to be done: try opening the Advanced Search, add a couple search criteria rows, and press the tab key several times -- it's confusing.

ok, then we should ask Charles... maybe on the mailing list?

Focus is on the border between nice-to-have and must-have for me. I don't know what Charles' schedule is right now, so whatever we come up with would have to be quick-and-dirty until he can get us something nice. In GAIM, which is the only GTK app I have under windoze, the convention seems to be orange pixels around the edges of buttons, revealed on hover. I'm assuming there are dotted lines for forms items, but can't see any in this app. Focus might actually be important as an accessibility issue as well. Doesn't have to be pretty this time around, but if there's something we can do - anything - on the quick&dirty?

you mean visually? and how should buttons indicate if they recieve focus? currently, the visuals were only provided for normal, mouse roll-over and selected (clicked) states. should we ask for new visuals for focused state?
