There are two main types of support options available: free support and guaranteed support.
Free support for Campware products is available through our mailing lists (you can find them here and here — we are in the process of moving them to a new platform) and is provided by community members, including Campware developers.
Guaranteed support means having priority over free support, and a response to your problem guaranteed within 24 hours of you filing your problem. If necessary, the developers will log into your server to find or fix the problem. Any bugs in the software are covered – you have it in writing that we’ll fix them.
Open source is a great thing – but often with open source applications you are forced to upgrade to the latest version in order to fix a bug that’s bothering you. The only problem is, the latest version usually has a bunch of new features and those new features usually introduce new bugs. You want to keep your older, stable system, but with the bug fixed. If you have a support contract, you don’t have to worry about forced upgrades – all bug fixes will be backported to the version you are running. You also don’t have to wait for the next version to come out to have a bug fixed – the team can issue a release just for you that fixes your particular bug.
