Ubuntu Feisty and Debian Etch repositories now available

Campware repositories now available for users of Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" and Debian 4.0 "Etch". This is especially good news for users of the excellent UbuntuStudio – a specialized distribution of Ubuntu aimed at audio, video and graphics production. Because UbuntuStudio is based on Feisty, it will also work for that too.

Ubuntu users
For Ubuntu users, to add the Campware Feisty repository, go to Synaptic Package Manager -> Settings Repositories and select the ‘Third Party Software’ tab. There you can click on ‘Add’ and copy/paste or type in this line:

deb https://www.campware.org/ubuntu feisty main
Click the ‘Refresh’ button to update your lists of available software, and then click ‘Search’ to search for the term ‘campcaster’. Three packages will appear: campcaster-libs, campcaster-station and campcaster-studio. Most users will want to install all three of these.

Kubuntu users
Kubuntu users can do something similar. To add the Campware repository, go to Adept -> Manage Repositories -> Third Party Software, click ‘Add’ and paste this line (it’s the same one as for Ubuntu users):
deb https://www.campware.org/ubuntu feisty main
Adept will then ask you to reload. When you have reloaded, search for ‘campcaster’ to see the available files.

Debian users
Users of Debian Etch can add the Campware Debian Etch repository in the same way. The line to use for the Campware repository is:
deb https://www.campware.org/debian etch main
Editing your sources.list
For those of you who prefer ‘keeping it real,’ and don’t like to use a GUI package manager, you can always add the appropriate Debian or Ubuntu repository above mentioned above in your /etc/apt/sources.list file.
